想定する質問は、"What is your dream? Please explain why that is your dream."である。

(というオープンな質問は咄嗟に答えることが難しいからだ)

My dream is to go to the moon. Although it may sound childish, that has a good reason for that to be my dream.

Going to the moon has been my dream for a long time, since my childhood. My father was a physicist, and has recommended science-related books since I was barely able to read letters, which I believe when I was three years of age.

My best guess on the reason is that the universe, beyond the planet we are born on and live, the vast expanse of it, the unknowns, stimulated my curiosity immensely, and captured my mind with great force. It might be called a fascination, not exactly the same as a dream, but at least I can say that I was fascinated with the moon as the closest astronomical object to our mother planet.

Going to earth propelled scientific and technological develoment over the past six decades, and the United States and Russia successfully made it to the moon.

It is to my great surprise that the computer which was the brain of Apollo 11, which landed on the moon for the first time on July 20, 1969, under the command of Neil Armstrong, was not as powerful as a smartphone we daily use today.

Just as the moon drove the technological development of us humankind, it has also been driving my personal development as well, in terms of physical and mental soundness, ability to communicated in English, professional expertise especially in project management, to name a few aspects.

Every night I look up and see the moon when the sky is clear, and every time I see the moon I imagine myself standing on the surface of the moon, looking over the Earth from there.

I certainly believe that the experience of going to the moon would raise me up to the next level, to be able to see things more objectively, in addition to an unfathomable degree of joy and happiness.
